Any Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Is insurance included in the lesson price?
No, esf does not provide insurance for its students. We recommend checking your personal insurance cover and taking out Carré Neige insurance if needed. For more information, please see our dedicated 'Take out Insurance' page.
Are snowshoe outings suitable for everyone?
Except in the case of medical conditions, these outings are accessible to everyone aged 12 and over (children must be accompanied by an adult).
Will I be able to keep up with the group?
Instructors adapt the route according to the participants’ level.
What should I wear?
Snowshoeing is a physical activity, so you should dress accordingly: breathable clothing (such as fleece layers) and not too many thick layers.
What type of footwear should I wear?
Hiking boots are the best option (available for hire from sports shops). Après-ski boots and snow boots are also suitable. However, snowboard boots are too rigid, and Moon Boots are too wide and not recommended.
Do I need a ski pass?
No. For esf Les Menuires / St Martin organised outings, you will not need a ski pass.

Snowshoe outing in Les Menuires: Alpine panoramas and a night-time adventure

Fancy a trapper-style adventure during your next holiday in the mountains? Why not go for a snowshoe outing! Open to children aged 12 and over when accompanied by an adult, this excursion offers a lovely family outing. An instructor from the esf Les Menuires will guide you through the Belleville Valley, with a delicious meal to round off the day if you’d like!

What’s a snowshoe outing in Les Menuires like?

Our excursions take place on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 pm. A qualified snowshoe guide will meet you at one of the resort’s various departure points:

  • La Croisette.
  • Les Bruyères.
  • Saint-Martin-de-Belleville.

Wearing suitable clothing and footwear, you’ll explore the marked trails of Les Menuires and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the snow-covered landscapes, in an atmosphere perfect for discovering nature.

At the end of your snowshoe hike with family or friends, enjoy a traditional Savoyard dinner at high altitude, served in a mountain refuge – a lovely way to round off your day in the resort!

Extend your Nordic experience: cross-country skiing and an introduction to biathlon

Whilst the snowshoe outing in Les Menuires gives you the chance to observe winter flora and fauna, there are other options available to you:

  • Learn two cross-country skiing techniques (classic or skating) in lessons suitable for children aged 6 and over.
  • Why not give a biathlon taster session a go, available for children aged 8 and over?

These non-skiing activities in Les Menuires will allow you to discover the 3 Vallées ski area in a different way. Book your group or private lessons now!
