In the mountains, winter sports are a delight for children, teenagers and adults alike, who love the thrill of sliding down the slopes and enjoying the snow-covered landscape. But skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing are still risky activities, with falls and accidents a regular occurrence on the slopes.

While ski protection such as helmets have become indispensable in recent years, the dangers associated with these outdoor activities should not be ignored. As prevention is better than cure, you can also take out ski insurance at the same time. Find out how and why!

Ski insurance: why is it important?

The holidays are approaching, the snow is coming to the mountains and the children are getting impatient... It's the perfect time to book your ski holiday in Les Menuires!

From your accommodation to your suitcase, everything needs to be meticulously prepared in advance. But when you're doing your research online, you notice that ski insurance is mentioned several times in articles.

So do you really need to worry about it? In reality, this insurance is not compulsory. You can head off down the slopes without it.

The ski and snowboard lessons offered by the esf Les Menuires do not require you to take out insurance either. However, it is highly recommended as it protects you in the event of accident or illness.

With Carré Neige insurance, you won't have to pay anything up front, from rescue costs on the slopes to reimbursement of lift passes and/or ski lessons, including ambulance transport.

Carré neige: what offers are available?

The esf Les Menuires offers you the chance to cover your stay on the slopes, in association with Carré Neige. This local ski insurance is divided into several offers to meet everyone's needs. Depending on your activity and your expectations, you can choose from the following options:

  • Carré Neige: at €3.30 per day per person (covers you during your stay).
  • Carré Neige Intégral: 4 euros per day per person (covers you before and during your stay).
  • Carré Neige Nordique: at €1.50 per person per day (for cross-country skiing, biathlon, snowshoe outings, etc.).

This makes it easier for you to choose the ski insurance that's right for you, so you can enjoy a relaxing stay on the snowy slopes of Les Menuires. What's more, Carré Neige is a committed insurance policy. By taking out this cover, you become a member of the Savoie Ski Performances association, which supports skiers from Savoie and helps to train tomorrow's champions.

Book your lessons with an instructor and make sure!

The ski and snowboard lessons offered by the esf Les Menuires do not include insurance. As you know, insurance is not compulsory. You can therefore book a private or group lesson without taking out Carré Neige insurance.

However, you will still be responsible for any costs incurred in the event of accident or illness. It's up to you to decide what suits you best for your stay in the mountains. With Carré Neige, you can still take advantage of a number of benefits: no advance payment for rescue services, a ceiling of €50,000, etc.
