The first edition of the Banked Slalom stopped off at Les Menuires this season!

As a partner of the Club des Sports, Les Menuires hosted the first Banked Slalom on 19 January, a unique race dedicated to snowboarders from all horizons.
With a mix of reconnaissance runs, timed runs and free sessions, snowboard enthusiasts aged 7 to 77 were able to give their all on the slopes, all in a friendly and fun atmosphere. It was a first-of-its-kind event that got a lot of participants excited!
Snowboarders pushed their limits in Les Menuires this year
The Banked Slalom is a slalom race designed for snowboarders, with a series of banked turns that thrill every participant. During this slalom competition, athletes of all ages and levels had the opportunity to put their skills and techniques to good use for the duration of a run. Working on support and balance, the riders enjoyed taking on a course that followed the most natural contours of the snow-covered slopes.
More than just a demonstration of performance, the Les Menuires Banked Slalom was also an opportunity to have some fun. Every snowboarder was able to give free rein to his or her style and desires, whether they wanted to push their own limits or simply have a great time on the stadium.

It was at the heart of the Becca slalom stadium that the riders gathered for a unique event. A wide range of enthusiasts were on hand to take part in the Banked Slalom, a discipline that owes its popularity to its easy accessibility. Indeed, one of the major assets of the run lies in the fact that it allows amateurs, pros, girls, boys, women and men to all come together for the time of a snowboard race.
While three categories were represented - under 12s, 12-18s and over 18s - there were no restrictions on level. All that mattered was the spirit of competition combined with a passion for snowboarding. All in all, it was a great way for participants to enjoy some intense sport in a friendly atmosphere!

The very first edition of the Banked Slalom organised in the Les Menuires resort on Sunday 19 January 2025 was the scene of some great snowboarding performances by the participants, but also the opportunity for a warm meeting between enthusiasts as the event was punctuated by a variety of entertainment.
After a prelude on the evening of January 18 with a rock concert by The Unclouders, the next day's competition was followed by a prize-giving ceremony, a refreshment bar and a hearty meal. All in all, it was an enjoyable and convivial occasion that fully rewarded the efforts of all the participants and enabled them to share an emotionally-charged moment around a common passion: snowboarding.
